The government has put in a lot of effort in promoting the National Service

They promote the programme by making it fun and adventurous....
Students get to experiment with weapons...

Students get to try obstacle courses...

Students get to march...
Ok that my not be fun....
But I can't help to relate our national service to a very famous organization that has the same programme and activities like the national service...
Quite scary when you think about it....lol....

I used to have pessimistic views towards NS too but after talking to the some of the kids whos been to NS, i think its prob the most impactful experience for some people. Unlike us lucky urban folks, some of the kids from kampungs and what nots have never seen an indian/chinese/punjabi person in their lives. NS is a great place to meet people and in sum ways expand their horizons. Also in some cases, its the 1st time theyve ever a proper meal.
i think we shud give NS a chance. Plus, handling a real weapon is pretty cool. :-)
Naia..I think it is a good programme but I it has not been well planned and when people who should be alive today have lost their life..something has to be done...
